Media Planning and Buying Director

Full time role, hybrid with 3 days in the London office per week.

My client, a leading organisation, is seeking an experienced Media Account Director to join their team based in London.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead on key property-specific pillar clients
  • Assume leadership for smaller client brands as needed.
  • Attend client meetings to present innovative ideas, digital insights, strategic plans, and media research
  • Drive agency strategy for growth and uphold core values in client interactions
  • Optimise schedules to secure the best prices and ensure transparent reporting to clients
  • Collaborate with the rest of your team to champion best practices and operational efficiency
  • Cultivate strong relationships with media supplier partners and partner agencies
  • Drive innovation by introducing and fostering an understanding of new ideas.
  • Work with senior management to manage long-term client strategies.
  • Oversee your assigned Account Manager.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture
  • Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes for new team members
  • Manage and support employees in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide coaching and opportunities for career growth.
  • Share knowledge and experience across teams.
  • Disseminate key messages within the team.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures and instructions.
  • Update administration systems as required.
  • Be prepared for occasional unsocial hours.

Personal Specifications:

Qualifications:

  • A Degree in Marketing, Business or any other relevant degree which includes a marketing element is desirable but not essential

Experience:

  • Account management experience at a senior level, particularly within media agency environment
  • Significant experience in professional client’s relationship management, ideally in the property sector
  • Experience of creating new business opportunities
  • Experience of handling a variety of accounts and dealing with a number of different stakeholders
  • Previous experience of managing a small team.
  • 3-4 years agency experience

Knowledge and Skills

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must have sound digital knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong writing, grammatical, and proofing skills
  • Skilled at prioritising and managing both your own and your team’s time.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and budgetary restraints
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Proven and effective management team experience.
  • An understanding of GDPR and relevant legislation
